OS Ignite, Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

This statement applies to www.osignite.com.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They have three levels: A, AA and AAA.

This website is held to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the level referenced in practice by the Americans with Disabilities Act, by Section 508, and by the European Accessibility Act.

Conformance is partial. The requirements that can be checked automatically are met throughout the site. The requirements that call for human judgement are reviewed by people, on a slower cycle than the automated checks.

How conformance is established

Conformance is established as follows.

  • Every page is checked against WCAG 2.2 Level AA automatically, at a phone width and at a desktop width.
  • Every colour pairing used in the design is measured against the 4.5:1 and 3:1 contrast thresholds.
  • The navigation opens and closes with a keyboard, focus stays inside it while it is open, Escape closes it, and focus returns to where it was.
  • Every image carries alternative text, or is marked as decorative by a person making that decision explicitly.

Human review of the requirements automation cannot measure happens on a slower cycle, and is recorded with the date it was carried out.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

This website is designed to be compatible with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, used with the assistive technology built into those platforms, including VoiceOver, TalkBack, Narrator and NVDA.

It may not work correctly in browser versions more than two major releases old, or with assistive technology that has not been updated in that time.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of this website relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and, in a small number of places, JavaScript. Every page renders and can be read and navigated with JavaScript unavailable.

Forms submit and return their errors without JavaScript, so a person using a browser or assistive technology that blocks or fails to run scripts can still complete them.

Limitations

Automated rules find somewhere in the region of a third of accessibility problems. They can establish that an image has alternative text; they cannot establish whether that text is a useful description. They can check that headings run in order; they cannot check whether the order makes sense.

Content supplied by third parties, and documents published in formats we did not produce, may fall short of the standard. Where we find one, we ask the supplier to fix it, and we provide the content another way in the meantime.

If something on this site does not work for you, it is a defect whatever any test reports, and we want to know about it.

No accessibility overlay is used

This site uses no accessibility overlay, toolbar or widget: the products that offer conformance by adding a script to a page.

They leave the underlying markup unchanged, they frequently interfere with the screen readers and browser settings people already have configured, and they confer no legal protection. Accessibility on this site is built into the pages.
